The organization’s activities have addressed critical common concerns focused on alleviating poverty and encouraging sustainable development. These have included enhancing the quality of education, and equitable access to it; promoting human health and preventative health education; developing agricultural techniques and the sustainable use of natural resources; improving the use of information and communications technology; and protecting the region’s rich heritage of cultural traditions and languages
